Sunil Gupta is an engineering graduate from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, where he also completed his Master's in Management Studies. He graduated in 1981 and has been associated with HVAC field since his graduation. He worked for a few years in the sales and construction departments of Bahawan Engineering Co., one of the largest airconditioning companies in the Middle East. He has been practicing as a HVAC & BMS consultant since 1986 as partner in Gupta Consultants & Associates , a leading HVAC & BMS consultancy firm in the Country.

He has been associated with the designing of diverse projects in India and abroad totaling more than 1000 Nos.

He is actively involved with the activities of ISHRAE AND ASHRAE INDIA CHAPTER. He is currently the President of ASHRAE India Chapter. He occupied the positions of President, Delhi Chapter of ISHRAE from 2000-2001 and Secretary ISHRAE HQ. He was instrumental in introducing the concept of ACRECONF and has headed several Steering Committees to organize International Conferences such as ACRECONF-2001, DISCONF-2002, ACRECONF-2003, ARC-2004 etc.
