Mr. Dharkar is an Engineering graduate of 1980 batch with distinction and specialization in Air-conditioning and Refrigeration.

He is working as an Air-conditioning Consultant, heading M/s Pankaj Dharkar & Associates, having offices at Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Surat, Indore & Bangalore. This new venture came into existence from 6th sep 2006.

He started his career with Voltas Ltd. He then worked for M/s Dikshit Consultants and Engineers Pvt. Ltd. as an Air-conditioning consultant for 17 years & handled several projects in various fields. During his rich experience of 26 Yrs in the field of HVAC & R, he has to his credit of designing & installation of more than 2800 Projects worth 400000 TR.

At present, he is handling 250 projects of more than 100000 TR of all possible applications like Pharma Clean Room / Bio-Tech Park / Soft Ware Park / Data Centres / Diamond Factories / Entertainment Complexes / Sound Studio / Cold Rooms / Office Building / Hotels / Hospitals / Multiplexes / Shopping Malls etc.

Currently he has to his credit the prestigious projects like the Tallest Hotel and the Largest Shopping Mall coming up at Mumbai. He is also associated with several other luxury hotel chains like Park Hyatt – Mumbai, Grand Hyatt – Goa, Grand Hyatt – Pune, West-Inn – Mumbai and also several Budget Hotels across the country.

His Pharma / Clean Room experience is well accepted & acknowledged all over by Pharma Industry. He has to his credit clients like Zydus Cadila / Wockhardt / Sun / Microlab / U S Vitamins / Zydus Byke / German Remedies & many more. He has successfully given consultancy to Benta Pharma in Lebanon & now doing prestigious works at Ho-Chi-Minh city (Vietnam) for M/s. Stada (German Pharma giant) & STS Gems Thai ltd. at Bangkok.

He was associated with School of Building Sciences and Technology (CEPT) at Ahmedabad as a Visiting Faculty.

He is an active member of ASHRAE and ISHRAE, the American & Indian societies of Heating, Ventilation, Air-conditioning & Refrigeration Industry. Mr. Dharkar was awarded the grade of Life member of ASHRAE on 3oth Nov 1995. He was elected as the Nominating Alternate Committee Member, Region-At-Large in 2003-2004.

He has been on the International committee of American Society of Air-conditioning & Refrigeration & traveled all over the world to attend the expositions /meetings & seminars on HVAC & R. Mr. Dharkar also, was the past President of ASHRAE–Western India chapter while currently he is coordinating ASHRAE activities in India.

In the last 2 years he has received Red Ribbon Award & Blue Ribbon Award for Membership Growth of Western India Chapter.

• Red Ribbon Award - in Sep-2003 at Regional conference at Cairo, Egypt.
• Blue Ribbon Award - in Sep-2004 at Regional conference at New Delhi, India.

At present he is the chairperson of Membership Promotion Committee for Western India Chapter.

At present Mr. Dharkar is the All India President of ISHRAE HQ (Indian Society of Air-conditioning & Refrigeration Engineers) which has more than 5000 members with 12 chapters in India & 2 chapters in Middle East.

He has previously held the position of President– ISHRAE Ahmedabad Chapter & President Elect of ISHRAE HQ 2006-2007. Mr. P. R. Dharkar was also President / Regional Director of ISHRAE in year 1994-95 / and 1996–97.

He is the Co-Chairman for ACREX– 2008, the largest Air-conditioning Expo to be ever held in the country where technical seminars on “Sustainability” / Green Buildings” will be the main theme. The Expo is likely to be visited by more than 30,000 visitors from India & abroad and seminars are likely to be attended by more then 3000 persons over 3 days. He was also the Co-Convenor of ACREX Expositions held in Mumbai & Delhi

Mr. Dharkar has to his credit, the laurels of organizing the recent COMFEX–2005 in January and previous COMFEX–97 at Ahmedabad.

He has successfully steered several seminars, Regional & National level Expositions, Conferences etc. all over the country.
